Yaxley F.C  our visitors in this coming Saturday's F.A.Vase first round qualifying match  are nicknamed the "Cuckoo's ".

They were founded in 1900 and currently play in the Hereward Teamwear United Counties Premier League, they have also played in days gone by in the Peterborough League, Eastern Counties League

Last season they finished in 19th position in the United Counties Premier League ( 21 teams in league )

with   8 wins, 6 draws , 26 losses,  37 goals for, 76 goals against  scoring 30 points

so far this season they have played  4 league matches, winning 1 , drawing 3  scorong 4 goals to 3 against, they have a league match on Tuesday night so the above will change.

They were beaten 3-0  by Newmarket Town ( at Newmarket ) in the extra prelim  round of the F.A. Cup

Mildenhall Town have today resigned  striker John Sands, he left Mildenhall in the summer to join Cambridge City and has struggled to get into the side.

He rejoins Mildenhall on a 2 year contract

The away match at Stanway Rovers on Wednesday September 1st  has been postponed.

Stanway are having new changing rooms, spectator toilets,  and catering area built, but an unforeseen with a Gas supply to the building has caused a delay

Long serving Hadleigh goalkeeper LUKE WHITWELL has joined  Suffolk and Ipswich League  side Capel Plough, Luke had played in goal during his youth and in the latter years was our regular First Team Keeper, but more recently in the Reserves, making over a 100 appearances , last season saw him unavailable due to work commitments . the Club wish to thank Luke for his services.

By joining Capel he links up with several former Hadleigh players :-  Archie Arnold ( joint Capel Manager ),  Chris Wall, Nick Albins, Nigel Bradford, Dean Dale and not to forgot  " The Three Dovovans "   ( Wayne, Miles & Keiran ).

It will be interesting how many  " old faces " are in the Capel team for Monday night's  Hadleigh Reserves match.

We will not be seeing any "Old Faces "  as the match has been Cancelled

Club President, Scribe & Historian , Terry Adams has looked into our history in the F.A. Cup.

Hadleigh go to Haverhill Rovers this coming Saturday 14th, seeking what would only their second F.A. Cup victory  in the history of the Club.

The only previous success was in August 1995, when a ream managed by Scott Clarke, beat Southall 1-0 at the " Millfield ", with Andy Powell scoring the vital goal in the second half.

The following round two weeks later  saw us lose 1-0 away to Romford , match played at Ford United's ground in Dagenham.
